Chaesub is a recognised expert on ICTs (Information Communication Technology) and its standardisation with over three decades of experience in the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT). As the former Director of ITU’s Telecommunication Standardisation Sector (ITU-T), he led the development of ITU-T standards and collaboration with other international bodies such as the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Chaesub bears a strong track record of responsible introduction of new technologies to the ICT ecosystem. This includes leading NGN (Next Generation Networks), IPTV, IoTs, Fixed Mobile Convergence and Fintech. He initiated ITU's AI for Good Global Summit, Financial Inclusion Global Initiative (FiGi) and Smart Sustainable City and Community.
He holds a PhD in Multimedia Engineering from Hanbat University and an MA in Electronics Engineering from Konkuk University.
